The Osgood Anderson House was built in 1893. The architect was the renowned Albert Sutton; the extensive 1903 renovation architect was George Darmer. The design is shingle style, an architectural style that is very rare on the west coast. This 19th century huge shingle style home is a real gem in Tacoma. There is extensive and elaborate woodwork including an exquisite oak staircase, oak paneling, mahogany and oak pocket doors. There are oak hardwood floors throughout the first and second floors, carpeting on third floor. There is a servant staircase from the kitchen to the second floor. The main house is 4400 square feet. The main house can easily accommodate 10-12 people.
The basement was converted into a three bedroom apartment in the early 2000’s. It is an 1100 square foot three bedroom unit that is accessed through the backyard. It also has some water views. It can easily accommodate 6 additional people.
